Reviews of Sceptre 24" Curved 75Hz Gaming LED Monitor Full HD 1080P HDMI VGA Speakers, VESA Wall Mount Ready Metal Black 2019 (C248W-1920RN)

Tuesday

High quality, low cost.
think most of the issues here are dead pixels in other reviews
.. which happens with any LED or LCD screen just by chance. The monitor came in and was thoroughly packaged. I unboxed this thing and hooked it up immediatly to check dead pixels and everything was good. I'm happy with the quality of the product. It had a spray cost steal back plate which makes it all the more
sturdier and is very sleak. As for display, it's everything you want with a 1080p monitor at 75hz but saves a few bucks and is curved at that. Highly recommend and will be buying future monitors from sceptre

 Great Entry into Curved Monitors
I have never had a Curved monitor, but after trying out this monitor I can assure you I will never go back to standard flat monitors. It looks great, and has very slight wobble. The only thing I can complain about is the glare, but if you turn down the room lighting it isn't noticeable. The Monitor speakers are awful, don't use them. Overall, I am very happy with the product and the speed of the shipping!

 It does do 75hz @ 1080p
This is my first monitor above 75hz(okay technically 74hz but close enough). Despite what the reviews say, it does indeed do 75hz. My issue the first time around was that I was using a Display port to HDMI. (I know basic knowledge, we all have those days) Regardless the picture is pretty nice. However there edgless~ish. The black metal colored plastic (very rough plastic though) bezel makes it look pretty edgeless. But if you line 3 of these up and play Forza with the surrounded display turned on I see a difference in bezel sizes between other monitors on the market. The speakers on the monitor are far from nice. They are flat, but you can tell what's going through them at least.

Overall its a good monitor for the price. Please, do your research before you write a review and make sure you have taken all the steps to troubleshoot an issue with the product to make sure it isn't user error.

Checks all my boxes
I have a dual monitor setup with older monitors. One died so I figured why not replace both...When I started to look, I was surprised at how cheap (inexpensive) these things were! The monitors I replaced were double what I paid for one of these!
I had three criteria that I could not deviate from: 1) Had to be VGA connectors because that's what my video card has. 2) Had to have VESA wall mount because that's what my dual monitor stand uses. 3) they had to be larger than the original. This monitor does all that and more! And getting a curved monitor is an unexpected bonus!
While I haven't run any diagnostic apps to check for stuck pixels, and I don't use them for gaming, I am very surprised with the quality. Although, it was a little misconceiving when I pulled the protective plastic off the logo and one of the letters came off with the plastic (it now says "SCEPT E")

Good quality and works well for anything besides high end gaming
For the price its a great curved monitor. When trying to game on it, 75hz is a bit low. I got this because the price mainly. Anything high end thats curved you'll pay triple what this costs for a minimal increase in quality. I tried to watch a few videos higher than the lowest 1080p settings and it was clear. As soon as I went to the other side of the spectrum for 1080p I started seeing some pixelation. It was slightly noticeable, but not enough to ruin the experience.
Pros: curved and good quality especially for the price.
Cons: some tearing when watching high end video(no higher than mid range quality for 1080p or you will get some image pixelation...I.e.- blocks lagging behind ever so slightly.)

Good Value in an Inexpensive Monitor.
Didn't really need this. I have a perfectly running HP 23 in. I just had an inkling for a curved monitor. I am not a Gamer! Out of the box the picture was just OK! There was too much backlight bleedthough. Using the units menu, adjusted the setting down to 20. Increased brightness and contrast and the picture now has decent blacks and very good whites.
The computer is an older Dell OPTO 960 with an NVIDIA GT430 video card.
I've noticed a lot of questions regarding the inability to obtain a 75hz refresh rate. With the supplied HDMI cable, the video card thinks it is connected to an HDTV which only has a max rate of 60 hz. I connected a VGA cable and it now sees it as a PC monitor. Now I could get a 75 hz refresh rate but the monitor wouldn't accept higher resolutions returning an "out of range " error msg. Didn't care for the vga display, anyway. It lacked detail and crispness! Gave this monitor 5 stars because it is a good value!

Amazing monitors for the price
I should start off by saying that I haven't bought a computer monitor probably since the mid-2000s.I feel like when I see the prices of other curved monitors to be able to get two of them and I have this big of a display is amazing. I do wish the stands were height adjusting but oh well for the price I love these monitors. I did have to get a calibration tool and software the factory settings are no good. if you get these monitors and you have an issue with the colors and washed out look I definitely suggest the calibration kit well worth it.

I really like this monitor for the price...
The monitor works well and has a clear picture. There is a reflection on the monitor though, but with the curve, it isn't that bad at all. It's not really a gaming monitor per say, however it's better than a standard 60hz monitor @ a rate of 75hz. It's good on the eye's as a business workstation monitor or for average home usage. Its light weight, and seems very plastic, but aren't all monitors nowadays? Overall: It's a nice little monitor with a nice curve that allows your eyes to focus on whats important on the screen while you are working. Not to mention, the price is right!

Great monitor on a budget! Boasting Edgeless is misleading however.
So I just got this monitor in today, and I was super nervous after reading several comments on how customers have gotten their monitors in with dead pixels. I was very pleased to find my monitor had no dead pixels!

I knew what I was getting into off the bat. If you're looking for a monitor that delivers a 4k res picture than you will be disappointed. However the picture is very clean and the resolution is great. It plays Mondern Warfare off my xbox one S very well. Also after tweaking with the settings a bit I got the picture to look very crisp and defined. I am thoroughly satisfied with my first experience buying a curved monitor.

But, I'll leave you guys with this.

If you are looking for a monitor that is edgeless to set it up against another, you may want to look elsewhere. This monitor boasts of being edgeless and out the box it does look like it is in fact. However, once you turn the video on, about a half an inch around the entire screen is a black boarder.

Great for my day trading setup, don't know about gaming
I bought four of these for a day trading computer setup. Replaced a single older (5 years old?) flatscreen Sceptre monitor with four of these and a tower to mount them all. These are a significant upgrade from my old monitor of the same size. It is a sweet setup and these look fantastic very sharp and clear with good color. I like the curved screen. They really seem to reduce the glare both when they are off and when they are on. The only thing I don't like about them is the bulky DC plug makes it hard to plug in four of them with everything else that needs plugged in on my computer desk. I was surprised to see they included an HDMI cord although I still had to buy a different type of HDMI to display port cord for three of them since my computer only has one HDMI port and three displayports. So far so good I would recommend this display.
