Beautiful monitor for the price.
Definitely a good deal here. Friend needed a decent monitor for a budget gaming build... found this and it fit the bill perfectly. For one, it's got a decent IPS panel. Another thing is the exterior is very pleasant. Almost non-existent bezels, a nice looking base, and simple controls round out the exterior. The fact that it has
FreeSync is just icing on the cake. Now granted, it's not a high refresh rate monitor, but for a budget build, I'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer monitor. This compared very closely to an Acer gaming monitor of almost exact same specs, but the Acer was costlier.

Great value for the price; bright and very sharp
I was looking for an affordable 4K monitor and this one is great for the price.
Pros:
-4K resolution + IPS + 10-bit color from a brand I've at least heard of before AND less than $300--it's the only monitor I know of with all of those
-Much brighter plus much more accurate colors than my previous monitor!
-Sturdy metal base
-The top and side bezels of the monitor are super thin--maybe around 1 cm. The panel itself is quite thin, too
-Sound output built in (NOT speakers though--see below)
Cons:
-Others have pointed out the lack of VESA compatibility but I personally wasn't planning on mounting my monitor anyway. My last monitor also wasn't VESA compatible. Either way, if it's a must-have, look elsewhere.
-If you're hoping it has built in speakers, it does not. Like most people, however, I use my own. What it DOES have is an audio *output* port via the HDMI 2 cable, which I actually use. What this means is the audio comes from the HDMI cable that's plugged into your video card, then you use a cable that connects the audio output from your monitor to your speakers. I personally just use an Oontz Angle sound bar speaker, which is more than enough for my needs (and sounds much better than any built in monitor speakers that I've ever heard).
Other Thoughts:
-4K is probably a little overkill for a 27" screen, but 1) it's a new standard for TV/etc. (as opposed to 1440p) plus I do watch movies and broadcast TV through my monitor, and 2) the main reason I got it was actually for sharp text in large spreadsheets that I put together for work, and this is rocks for that. It's WAYYYY better than my last monitor (a 23" 1080p HP monitor) in that regard! And 3) for things like gaming you can set the resolution to something like 1440p
-It's "only" 60 Hz--obviously; the thing is, 1) a 4K monitor pushing, say, 144 Hz is currently hundreds and hundreds of dollars more--literally. And 2) even if the monitor had the capability, virtually no video cards today could push out those types of frame rates at that resolution with today's latest games, so no real point, at least not for a few years.
-I have to admit that I myself am not a massive expert who has compared dozens of the latest high-tech monitors. I'm primarily just comparing this to my previous 1080p HP monitor, and this one blows it out of the water, so I'm happy with the purchase!
No VESA but good picture quality, thin bezel and very affordable price.
I also purchased LG UD58 ips 4k monitor which has very similar price range, so I did side by side comparison on these two. Philips 276E8 does not have VESA mount so that could be a huge downside for monitor arm goers, but it has a few advantages over LG’s competitive model. (1) Far thinner bezel: You won’t find a 4k monitor with this thin bezel at this price point. LG mode has pretty thick bezel. (2) Image quality: Excellent. Professional reviewers on Youtube also released the results that it is better than LG u58 4k monitor. (3) Light and thin: it is thinner and lighter (4) Loudspeaker for sound
I would say at this point, Feb-2019, I can say with a confidence that this is the best 4k monitor under $300. I ve purchased 3 others but this one is the best. 5 stars.
Reasonably_Priced High Performance Monitor
The monitor, Model 246E9QDSB/27, ordered with free shipping, arrived six days after the order was placed. It was in top condition due to manufacturer's styrofoam inside a strong box inside an Amazon box. The monitor setup was easy and I used the DVI connection. I was very taken aback when I turned the unit on and got a full color, brilliant display that was decidedly better than the monitor I replaced. Overall I am very pleased with the performance so far.
The ISP screen is very applicable to our family needs as we frequently Skype with our grandchildren. Two of us sit side-by-side, dividing the screen, and each of us has a great view due to the very wide viewing angle (178 deg). I believe gamers might find this monitor to be very adequate but have not tried it for gaming use. There is absolutely no apparent flicker and the Low Blue Light setting gives a very normal brightness for almost all of our normal viewing needs. Toggling between Low Blue Light and Normal Light mode is a quick and simple procedure once you locate and learn the function of the single switch (see comment below).
There are a few items that I will note. First, although the monitor does comply with the VESA mounting standard (in this case, 75mm by 75mm) for monitor mounting, I could not use my very flexible tilt and rotate desktop monitor stand I had anticipated using because the input fittings which extend out perpendicular from the monitor back, both DVI and VGA, interfere enough with the stand column as to prevent the use of the stand. I could use HDMI for this model number but to do so would require some challenging cabling mods for my particular setup. Secondly, the on/off and mode selector switch is rather cryptically described in the manual. I finally found the switch and discovered that it was a multi-function toggle-type switch located at the bottom center of the monitor back. The diagramatic instructions should be augmented by stating in words, "The on/off and multi-function toggle-type switch is located about one inch from the bottom center of the monitor back. This switch is used for selecting the monitor functions and for making monitor adjustments." Thirdly, there was no CD or DVD included with the order. I went online to the Phillips website under Support, downloaded the driver file and User Manual and easily found the latest driver with the helpful instruction as to how to verify that the generic Windows 10 driver was being used and instruction as to how to install and verify that the correct driver had been installed. I consider these to be minor critics. In short, I am very pleased with this high-quality, very modern and up-to-date monitor...good job Phillips!
Really nice monitor, but no speakers on 246E9QDSB model
After reading some reviews on here, there was some conflicting information regarding whether or not the monitor had built in speakers. I got the monitor and plugged in a working HDMI cable and was able to get everything connected but there was no sound. Called tech support and they referred me to the model number: 246E9QDSB. Turns out that this particular model does not have built in speakers. I was confused because the manual that I found online from the Philips website states on page 13, under 'convenience', that there are two built in speakers for the unit. BUT the speakers are only built into the 246E9QJA model. The back of the monitor looks like it has vents/ports for speakers, but the tech said that was because they use the same shell as the 246E9QJA for the 246E9QDSB, but do not incorporate the speakers. Not the end of the world, as there is a convenient HDMI audio out port on the back for desktop speakers (which I likely would have used anyways).
Just make sure that you know which model number you are getting if having built-in speakers is a must.
What an exceptional treat!
As my third PC monitor, I am incredibly impressed! I own a 24 inch Dell Ultra Thin 2019 Hi Def Beauty, as well as a 23 inch HP Pavilion. But no kidding, I am in love with my new 32 inch Philips Curved PC monitor. Correctly set the settings and the colors will jump out as promised. One warning, be cautious in the main set-up, or you may believe that you have a defective monitor. Play until you capture perfection! This is one of the best monitors I have had for this price range... you cannot get any better. Just make sure you set it up correctly, towards your standards of course! Hope that this honest review helps Tech enthusiast, such as myself!
Superb monitor, but 4K can be an eyestrain
Arrived quick, great price, setup was effortless, appearance is generally fantastic. But I'm kinda realizing this isn't the perfect desktop monitor for intensive coding/reading/long hours of text viewing. I was used to a 30" 2560x1600 monitor, so small text and tiny icons aren't new to me, but 4K is a little too much detail for a 27" monitor. No slight on the manufacturer, the picture is gorgeous, but I'm forced to squint, move unusually close to the screen, use a lower resolution, or scale my screen - all drawbacks to me. Running it at 1440x2560 now, and it's not bad, but I'm wasting a fine monitor's potential. Maybe in time I'll find the best tweaks for Windows 10, or at least my favorite IDEs, to work well at 4K, but for now I'm thinking 4K is overkill for a desktop monitor.
Edit - reducing from five to three stars. Like others have mentioned, I have begun having problems getting my computer output to display when awakening from sleep mode or monitor power save mode. Fiddling with the monitor menu controls won't help, the only answer I can find is to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable. Presumably powering the monitor off and on would work as well, but it has no power switch. While not fatal, this is a serious nuisance. I'll try replacing the cable or finding a hotkey to send PC back to sleep so I can retry, but this is aggravating!
Resolved awaken to black screen issue! Under power settings, advanced settings I set PCI Express Link State Power Management to Maximum power savings. The monitor now "wakes up" operational every time. Restored 5 star rating.
2019 has finally arrived
For the price this thing is amazing. KVM setup was easy - I have keyboard, mouse, monitor, audio interface AND power all passed over one cable to the laptops and two cables to desktop (usb + displayport). I've tested this setup one THREE different laptops (my macbook pro for work (2018), lenovo x1c carbon gen7 and my wife's dell laptop running OSX, Arch linux and Windows respectively, everything just works. For the price point this monitor is phenomenal. Oh yeah and gaming on this thing is superb too. I couldn't be more happy with this. Great job philips!
Very good
One caveat up front, I do not use these for gaming, so I am not sure how well they do or do not work in that context. Also, since it appears that reviews for a couple of different types of monitors are being lumped together, mine is for the Philips Computer Monitors 328E9QJAB 32" Curved Frameless Monitor.
I have a job that routinely requires me to have multiple documents and applications open at one time (e.g., Word, Acrobat, Outlook, and a web browser at the very least), and because of the Covid-19 pandemic, my office instituted a mandatory work-from-home policy. Therefore, I got a couple of these to connect to my laptop via a docking station. They are relatively easy to get set up. The only thing I found a bit tricky is that the power button is on the back of the monitor, just on the other side of the Phillips logo in the middle of the bottom of the monitor.
If you connect via an HDMI cable the picture is very crisp, and you can easily display multiple documents/applications at one time. I just have the monitors at eye level and do not have any problem seeing any portion of the screens. I am not sure how it would be affected if the monitor is moved above or below eye-level. It does have a speaker that emits okay sound, and you can connect an external speaker via a jack in the back of the monitor to get better sound out of it. Overall, If you are looking for a relatively large, widescreen monitor that is inexpensive, I definitely recommend this one.
Level 2 Monitor
For Gaming: 100%, absolutely, yes! I've spent years gaming on a TV, a few weeks on a small 27 inch monitor, and finally, this monitor. This gives that high definition that you've been missing out or hearing about. The image is beautiful, pristine and in 75 hertz. You'll thank yourself for making the big move to switch over from TV to Curved/Flat Monitor.
Picture Quality: Unless you're unfamiliar with curved monitors, the product is curved to protect your eyes, preventing you from getting eye strain and headaches. I bring this up, because you'll more than likely be watching a movies, games or just browsing the web for hours using this. The picture quality is perfect, and grants great visuals for your pleasure.
5/5
Brightness: Bright but not the "white film" stretched across the monitor. Not to mention you can adjust the settings for this monitor quiet easily.
5/5
Audio: Loud enough for a small to medium sized room. This can be heard loud enough for all kinds of experiences. Gaming, movies, tv shows, music, etc --- this monitor can blast it loud enough that you'll have to talk over it if need be. 5/5
Overall, the monitor isn't PERFECT, but honestly, it's a 92/100. I mean, the audio is loud enough without sounding distorted, the visual/picture quality of everything you see is crystal clear, and to top it all, it's curved, so its going to be great for your eyes. On a scale of "Levels" (Level 1 being beginner, 2 intermediate, 3 boss, etc), i would rank this as Level 2. This isn't just a normal or simple monitor. The product is expensive for all the right reasons.
