Almost 8yrs and still great
I purchased 3 of these (Asus VS247H-P 24-Inch Full-HD LED Monitor) back in 2012 and now it's the eve of 2020 and they are still going strong. My setup uses a triple display mount which I have the center monitor horizontal and the two ends are vertical for coding, email, web browsing, and anything else that works best
with a long display. After this long of a run with three of the same exact monitors I'm confident in saying they are reliable. I don't have a single dead pixel, all monitors wake upon any user activity, modifying the display properties through Nvidia is seamless, and all ports/plugs are functional. There are monitors with better picture quality nowadays, but for about $100/ea I think these are a great buy and you'd be hard pressed to find a better/more reliable option.
Primary use: Gaming and Coding
Secondary use: Web browsing, Video (YouTube/Vimeo), MS Office

7 years and keeps on going
I'm kind of left scratching my head while reading some of the poor reviews... I'm not gonna take anything away from the people leaving negative reviews; they felt that this product didn't meet their expectations and felt strongly enough to drop a single star on it... and that's cool, that's their prerogative, but through my experience, this has been an outstanding monitor.
I bought this way back in early 2013 and this has been my primary, daily use monitor for a little over 7 years... and it's still running awesomely. I will say that the screen brightness isn't as strong when it was brand new and I've noticed a total of three "dead" pixels, but for its age, I couldn't ask for a better monitor. Plus the price they're asking for brand spanking new version; you'd be hard pressed to beat that.
Totally happy with this purchase.
Fantastic Value that’s Easy in the Eyes
Working from home during the pandemic, my old (10+ years) monitors were giving me a headache every day. They predated things like flicker free technology and blue light filters. I bought two of these inexpensive monitors, and my only complaint is that I didn’t do it sooner. They are fantastic.
My eye headaches are gone, and I don’t have any trouble getting to sleep After a late night of gaming thanks (I’m assuming) to the blue light filter, which I have set to level 3. I’m running both monitors at 75mhz with AdaptiveSynch on. No dead pixels or quality issues. $109/each when I purchased.
Great monitor to serve as extra display alongside primary display
Loving this monitor so far. It’s a second monitor for me, so max specs aren’t super important. There are of course better, more expensive displays if you need higher resolution or faster refresh rate, but my main monitor is the more important one spec-wise, so for this one I just matched the screensize and resolution to my main monitor, but I didn’t want to pay extra for greater than 60 Hz refresh rate.
This one is incredibly lightweight. I got the bezel-less version. My VIVO pneumatic monitor mount barely needed any adjustment to the retention because this monitor is so light. Love the tiny bezel. Controls are intuitive and easier to press the buttons than my other, older Asus. (buttons arranged vertically on back of monitor for this one and horizontally on front of monitor for my older one. buttons in the back are easier to press without moving the orientation of the monitor, just pinch the display with thumb in front. horizontal front mounted buttons were always awkward to use for me)
Will update if any issues come up. Happy so far.
Best first/inexpensive gaming monitor
For the price, this is the best larger size monitor you can buy for a first monitor or if you're on a budget. The stand is just okay (you get what you pay for). It only has tilt functions. If you want more, you'll want to take advantage of the VESA mount on the back.
This monitor has tons of color and temperature settings. But don't plan on using 75Hz unless you are going to use the monitor at lower resolutions other than 1080p (who does that?). The super-slim bezel and picture colors are just gorgeous. I'm using it as a second monitor. It looks great and the price is excellent for the picture quality and aesthetics of the monitor.
If you're looking for a first gaming monitor that won't break the bank, or are on a tight budget and want a monitor that looks great or even an inexpensive second monitor, this is about the best you can get. And I've done my research. Go for it!
Just perfect. Great picture quality for the price tag.
I have 2 of these and probably going to order a 3rd. I didn't order them at the exact same time as others are blaming the new design to cause a "yellow tint". I had this "yellow tint" and washed color issue due to the cables, graphics card, and KVM that I use so I fixed the issue via software.
For those who read the negative reviews about this yellow tint... This is more than likely caused by the cables, graphics card, or other device in between. I confirmed it by simply switching the cables... A very simple debugging task that takes seconds to perform rather than simply blaming the manufacturer...
I'm writing this review to clear up some of the confusion that I had read with people who didn't do this simple debugging task and blame the monitor and go through the whole replacement process. I'm trying to educate and inform those who are looking to buy this monitor that the specific "yellow tint" is a cable / port issue which can be corrected by software.
If you are going to convert say HDMI to VGA, make sure that the reviews are solid. I had ordered a new adapter and it cause more of a yellow tint. Plugged the other adapter back in and it was back to normal. Also I had another video card that by default didn't have this issue. It was a cheapo fanless Geforce 210 that had DVI and VGA. My new GTX 750 Ti caused the HDMI + VGA to have a "yellow tint" which was easy to correct.
Bought a year apart, equal amounts satisfactory
Bought the first one in December of 2015, right when I got my gaming PC. I had no issues with the pixels or light bleed, although after a year I see the slightest amount of bleed on the vertical edges of the older monitor. It's barely noticeable though, and it has had no effect on my ability to use the monitor.
Bought the second one this week, and as you can see, I have no issues with it. This is the setup 20 minutes after I opened the package.
I haven't had the yellow tint issue either time, or dead pixels, or bad light bleed. The new monitor matches the color and one of the first, and I'm more than a little pleased with my new second monitor. It was a warm welcome into gaming 2017 style. For video editing? Ehh, you can find something better, absolutely. For gaming or general use? I couldn't recommend more.
24 inches of Feature Packed Monitor at a Super Low Cost
I got this gem for 89$ after a 20$ rebate from Asus. How can you go wrong with 24 inches Asus for 89$??!! Came yesterday and I immediately hooked it up.
Packaging - The monitor in Asus box is very well packaged, Amazon put it in a MUCH bigger box with stuffing's and made it very secure for shipping.
-Assembly -Took all of 30 seconds to pull out the round-ish plate desktop stand and attach to the neck stand already part of the monitor. To my surprise, the plate had a nice size bolt in it with a flat blade screwdriver slot..but...there is a small swivel handle attached to the bolt, lift it up and you simply use it to turn the bolt and attach plate to neck, then fold swivel back down and its good to go! All of 30 seconds, incredibly nice touch for such an inexpensive monitor.
Picture - Not what I expected here, there are 4 or 5 preset you get by pushing thru one button. For displaying windows it looks perfect on any setting, absolutely no issues there but then I put in a DVD movie and also tested on Amazon Prime and Netflix. I don't know who came up with these values for each but they are all terrible, 3 of them make the monitor look all washed out like a VHS tape from late 70's and the other 2, Scenery and Theater I think add some color but they are over contrast and saturated, yet though after watching a movie for a bit on the Scenery it didn't seem so bad. But they really do stink. I suggest you do what I did, go thru the menu system and write down the color - contrast.- brightness settings for each, find one that's close to what you can stomach and then adjust to your taste. After that I was happy. The instructions are terrible, just a description of the specific function for each and then their functions for operating the menu system. I say they are terrible because they did only that , and there is no explanation for terminology or what other things meant in the menu, I no newbie, I'll look on the web site for better explanation of "slpendid" or "splendor" some auto control you can mess with I think? Not a real big hit though.
Features & Stuff - I was very surprised to see that with the power cable a VGA and DVI cable was included. There is no HDMI cable though, I wasn't expecting any and the VGA and DVI is a big plus for a budget monitor. (henforce implies VGA, DVI HDMI inputs). The stand besides having the nifty swivel screw in device will also allow you to till it up and down a good amount and it stays in place nicely, not like other junk monitors that just slump down and stay there. VESA mounts, a shocker at this level as other name brand pricier monitors do not include this. There is also a head phone jack which is supper nice feature, its audio from HDMI. That's great because all speakers on monitors really stink, just read any review of one that has them, so rather than drive up cost and waste money on features you can use, Asus puts it to a high quality head phone interface the you can then use your headphones or send a wired or wireless signal to your GOOD speakers. For control there are 5 buttons on lower right underneath, for power, contrast, brightness, menu and something else I cant remember, and then a function for menu control. The menu is quite extensive allows you alot of control and you can also adjust audio from there, a place not easy to regularly get to so set just once and then use your source or your speakers to adjust. If you are driving speakers do not set this to the highest level, set it to mid at most, as the higher you go the more distortion you will get, this is true and same concept of amp and pre-amp let the amp do the bulk of work. 2ms is very fast, and unexpected again for this proce point, but I'm not a gamer but it will be a noticeable feature in action movies which I watch alot.
Other Thoughts - So despite my comments on the pre-sets I love this monitor ! 24 inches, tons of room for all the windows I have open for engineering and a big screen to watch movies and your 16:9 pictures and home videos will look like never before on these. A tilt-able stand - vesa mount supports, 3 video ports - audio and Asus quality all for 89$ It's a no brainer, even the 109$ is more than worth it. I will probably get another. One word of reviewers who complain about picture quality - spend more money and get a better monitor, being so picky about video quality here is like buying a 4 cylinder 110hp engine and complaining that you can't keep up with a 754 hp Dodge Hellcat. My eyes are crappy anyway so there is no need to buy a high end monitor, even if you have good eyes you will love this monitor.
Outstanding monitor at a great price
I bought two of these ASUS VA24EHE monitors and in my opinion, they're great. The brightness is excellent and the colors are rich and vivid. I paired these up with a HUANUO HNDSK1-B articulated dual-monitor mount (about ~$80) and the monitors look fantastic side-by-side.
The control settings seem well laid-out and the buttons on the back of the monitor have a nice clicky feel, not mushy. The top and side frames are very thin and almost disappear from your sight when you're using it.
I don't give many 5-star ratings, but these monitors earned it- a very nice monitor at a bargain price (~$110).
